Bringing Pop Culture to Life—Roll That Beautiful Dragon Footage Page 10

Some films leave a lasting impression—whether through unforgettable scenes, iconic characters, or simply the joy of watching them over and over again. This collection is a tribute to those movies that have stuck with me through the years, spanning different genres, styles, and eras. They may not all fit neatly into my other collections, but they each hold a special place in my love for cinema.

From cult classics to underrated gems, these pieces are inspired by films that have left their mark in one way or another. Whether it’s a striking visual, a memorable quote, or a moment that lingers long after the credits roll, this collection is a celebration of the movies that continue to inspire me. And with so many great films out there, it’s one that will only keep growing.

Surrounded by these green, menacing creatures, this piece brings the tension of the movie to life, showcasing a moment of horror as the frogs encroach on their unsuspecting prey. Perfect for fans of creature features and cult horror, this piece captures the essence of nature's terrifying revenge.

Totoro, the lovable forest spirit, sits under his iconic leaf umbrella, keeping dry as he relaxes in the woodland setting. Surrounded by the mischievous soot sprites, this one-of-a-kind piece captures the whimsy and charm of Studio Ghibli's beloved classic. The lush green surroundings, detailed foliage, and playful sprites bring the spirit of the forest to life in miniature form. I like your Dolls

There are warnings for a reason.

Trapped behind glass and reclaimed wood, this unsettling little dragon stares out from its custom-built enclosure, daring the brave to open the case (but please don’t). Commissioned by a dear friend, this piece pays tribute to the real Annabelle doll from the Warren Collection, not the Hollywood version. Painted to match the original's delicate dress and eerie charm, this dragon rests in a handmade case modeled after the famed display at the Warren’s Occult Museum, complete with an aged cross, a cautionary sign, and a devilish tarot card tucked inside. The box itself is constructed from reclaimed wood sourced from an old New England home, adding a layer of haunted history to an already spine-tingling tribute.

Medium: Hand-painted resin dragon, reclaimed wood, glass, mixed media
One-of-a-kind: Cross yourself, then cross this one off your wishlist.

Already spoken for! Each dragon is one-of-a-kind, but there’s always something new on the horizon.

‘So, now we know each other'

‘So, now we know each other'

You’ll float too… but with blue eyes this time.

This haunting tribute piece takes the iconic storm drain scene from It and reimagines it through the dragon lens, with a very special twist. Commissioned by a dear friend for actress Stacy Johnson, who portrayed the blue-eyed Pennywise, this dragon dons the unmistakable clown suit, vivid orange hair, and a bright red balloon...but her eyes, unmistakably, are Stacy’s piercing blue.

Nestled along a cracked street base, complete with a handmade paper boat, fallen leaves, and Georgie’s lonely yellow rain boot, the true horror lies just below the surface, literally. Peek through the rusted grate to find Georgie staring back, forever frozen in that moment of childhood terror. A loving nod to fan favorites and deep-cut horror details, this piece is a layered homage packed with heart, horror, and a balloon’s worth of bite.

              Inspired by: It (2017)
Medium: Hand-painted resin dragon, mixed media base with photo inset sewer detail
One-of-a-kind:  Terror never looked so cute.

              Ho-Ho-Horror

                Ho-Ho-Horror

This festive nightmare takes Art the Clown on a detour through the holidays, dropping him quite literally down the chimney. Donning a bloodstained Santa hat, he peers out with unsettling cheer, flanked by a sack of “gifts” no one asked for and a candy cane or two that definitely aren’t peppermint. The scene is packed with grisly holiday surprises, from the decapitated head candy bowl to one of Sienna’s broken and bloody wings, a nod for Terrifier fans to spot. Equal parts dark humor and gore, this piece blends seasonal whimsy with Art’s signature brutality.

                Inspired by: Terrifier 3 (2024)
Medium: Resin, mixed media, fabric, and acrylic paint
One-of-a-kind: A holiday horror mashup delivering yuletide terror...one brick at a time

                Are You a God?

                  Are You a God?

When asked that question, there’s only one right answer.

Inspired by the unforgettable rooftop showdown in Ghostbusters (1984), this piece brings the terror dogs and the gatekeeper’s temple to life in dragon form. The dragon is adorned with pearlescent bubbles of various sizes that shimmer under the portal’s glow. Flanking her, two snarling terror dogs prowl across a weathered stone platform, their red eyes locked on anyone foolish enough to say “no.”

The scene is framed by an arched gateway tangled in creeping vines and a haunting fog, lit with an ominous halo of LEDs that suggests a power beyond this world. From every angle, it’s a reminder: never hesitate when the gods come knocking.

                  Inspired by: Ghostbusters (1984)
Medium: Hand-painted resin with faux stone base, LED-lit archway, and mixed media scenic details
One-of-a-kind: Because when someone asks if you’re a god, you say yes.

Already spoken for! Each dragon is one-of-a-kind, but there’s always something new on the horizon.

                    Spawn of Satan

Some entrances don’t require an invitation—they burn their way in.

This piece sinks its fangs into the gothic allure of Jerry Dandrige, the suave vampire-next-door from Fright Night (1985). Our dragon reimagines Jerry in his devilish prime, seated casually in front of blood-red stairs beneath a custom-built stained glass window, a direct nod to the one seen in the film. The "glass" was hand-poured resin and meticulously painted with stained glass paints to capture the eerie glow and religious irony of the original.

Red-eyed and smooth as hell, this little devil holds an apple; because what’s more dangerous than temptation with good hair and a smug grin? The rich wood textures, velvet carpeting, and floral accents bring this piece to life as if the camera just panned down the staircase and caught him waiting.

                    Inspired by: Fright Night (1985)
Medium: Hand-painted resin dragon with mixed media base, custom stained glass resin window, wood, and flocking
One-of-a-kind: Slicker than sin and twice as charming. Don’t trust the eyes.
