Bringing Pop Culture to Life—Roll That Beautiful Dragon Footage Page 11

Some films leave a lasting impression—whether through unforgettable scenes, iconic characters, or simply the joy of watching them over and over again. This collection is a tribute to those movies that have stuck with me through the years, spanning different genres, styles, and eras. They may not all fit neatly into my other collections, but they each hold a special place in my love for cinema.

From cult classics to underrated gems, these pieces are inspired by films that have left their mark in one way or another. Whether it’s a striking visual, a memorable quote, or a moment that lingers long after the credits roll, this collection is a celebration of the movies that continue to inspire me. And with so many great films out there, it’s one that will only keep growing.

"I'm From Atlanta, Y'all are off"

"I'm From Atlanta, Y'all are off"

Some queens come from space. This one showed up in your high school swimming pool.

This piece dives straight into The Faculty (1998) and resurfaces with Marybeth in her final alien form masquerading as human just long enough to wreak havoc. Our dragon captures that moment in the water, when her golden locks are still glowing, but the black tendrils of her true nature are starting to unfurl beneath the surface.

Set in a shimmering resin pool with hand-painted tentacles and splashes erupting around her, this piece plays innocent while hinting at something monstrous. Her bright eyes and soft coloration are just a mask. Don’t trust them. She’s already rewritten the rules.

    Inspired by: The Faculty (1998)
Medium: Hand-painted resin dragon with custom clear resin pool base, splash effects, and sculpted black tendrils
One-of-a-kind: Beauty queen, alien queen...same difference.

Stick a Pen in my Eye

Stick a Pen in my Eye

Sometimes the science teacher’s the only one making any damn sense...until he isn’t.

This piece is a tribute to Mr. Furlong, The Faculty’s most memorable (and ultimately doomed) biology teacher. It captures the moment right before everything goes to hell, when curiosity gives way to chaos, and that thing in the tank proves it's not just for observation.

The base replicates the classroom lab setting: tiled floors, lab tables, and a hand-poured resin tank housing the alien parasite. Our dragonized Furlong comes dressed in his lab coat, complete with a bloody face, and yes, a pen jammed through the eye. Because of course that’s how this ends.

      Inspired by: The Faculty (1998)
Medium: Hand-painted resin dragon with mixed media base, glassware, and custom resin alien tank
      One-of-a-kind: Teacher. Victim. Eyewitness.

You Remind me of the Babe

You Remind me of the Babe

Nothing’s ever really what it seems when you’re caught in a dream ruled by the Goblin King.

This one-of-a-kind piece captures a soft, surreal moment straight from Labyrinth. Jareth cradling baby Toby within a custom-built snowglobe, frozen in time and glitter. The base is sculpted to echo the film’s crumbling staircase illusion, wrapped in faux moss and dotted with delicate florals. Inside the globe, our dragon channels Jareth’s wild hair, flowing cape, and crystal ball, plus one piercing blue eye and one darker, just like Bowie himself.

This piece isn’t just a tribute to the film, it’s a love letter to magic, memory, and the strange charm of ‘80s fantasy.

        Inspired by: Labyrinth (1986)
Medium: Hand-painted resin inside a custom globe with faux moss, crystal details, and sculpted terrain
        One-of-a-kind: Magic in a bubble. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Already spoken for! Each dragon is one-of-a-kind, but there’s always something new on the horizon.

        You’re So Cool, Brewster

          You’re So Cool, Brewster

Some friendships just don’t survive the night.

This piece captures that tragic turn in Fright Night, the alleyway moment where Evil Ed’s grin fades into something far less human. The dragon’s wide, blood-bright eyes reflect both the horror and heartbreak of a friend turned predator, framed by grimy brick walls and scattered scraps of a world left behind. It’s a quiet, eerie corner of the 80s, brought back in resin and ruin.

Every fleck of rust, every crack in the alley, every glint in his haunted stare… it’s the moment that cemented Fright Night as a cult classic and Evil Ed as unforgettable.

          Inspired by: Fright Night (1985)
Medium: Hand-painted resin with custom-sculpted brick base and mixed media accents
          One-of-a-kind: A bite of pure 80s heartbreak.

          Mind the Claws

            Mind the Claws

The full moon doesn’t care who you are.

This dragonized take on An American Werewolf in London captures the transformation aftermath no one survives to see. Standing over the carnage, this snarling beast is mid-shift, fur slick with blood, jeans torn, claws dripping red. His victim’s severed head lies in the grass, eyes wide in disbelief, as if still processing what just happened. The hunt’s over, but the horror’s only begun.

Inspired by: An American Werewolf in London (1981)
Medium: Hand-painted resin with mixed media elements
One-of-a-kind: A howl in the dark, a bite you won’t forget.

            Nevermore!

              Nevermore!

Words can be more haunting than ghosts.

This dragonized tribute to Edgar Allan Poe sits perched at a vintage typewriter, mid-draft of “The Raven.” Surrounded by tomes, quills, and the ever-watchful eyes of his feathered muse, he channels the macabre elegance that defined Poe’s legacy. Ink stains his claws, a skull candle flickers beside him, and the weight of melancholy hangs in the air. Every detail whispers of obsession, genius, and the madness that accompanies both.

              Inspired by: The Raven (1845)
Medium: Hand-painted resin with mixed media elements
              One-of-a-kind: Quoth the dragon: nevermore.

Already spoken for! Each dragon is one-of-a-kind, but there’s always something new on the horizon.

              The Blood of Amos

                The Blood of Amos

In Gatlin, the harvest demands more than crops.

This unsettling little dragon sits among the withered corn, his claws slick with crimson as he quietly offers tribute to He Who Walks Behind the Rows. The open ledger lists the names of those “chosen,” while a half-eaten cob drips with something far darker than butter. It’s a deceptively calm scene…until you realize what’s missing from the fields.

Inspired by: Children of the Corn (1984)
Medium: Hand-painted resin with mixed media elements
One-of-a-kind: Out here, the corn’s not the only thing that bleeds.

                This Is the End, Friend

                  This Is the End, Friend

                  Playtime’s over.

The Good Guy doll didn’t burn quietly. Half-melted and still clutching his trusty blade, this scorched dragonized Chucky sits beside his iconic yellow box, a twisted relic of a toy gone wrong. The glossy charred textures and blistered paint echo that final fiery showdown, capturing the moment when plastic and evil met their match…almost.

                  Inspired by: Child’s Play (1988)
Medium: Hand-painted resin with mixed media elements
One-of-a-kind: He’s been through the fire… and didn’t quite make it out.

Already spoken for! Each dragon is one-of-a-kind, but there’s always something new on the horizon.

                  You Can Never Leave

                    You Can Never Leave

Once you enter Room 1408, you don’t check out.

Perched against the window ledge, this dragonized Mike Enslin stares into the impossible. A place where reality bends and sanity slips away one illusion at a time. His tropical shirt might hint at a carefree writer’s retreat, but the cracked brick façade and sealed black windows say otherwise. In 1408, every escape is just another trick of the mind, and every calm breath hides another scream waiting to break free.

                    Inspired by: 1408 (2007)
Medium: Hand-painted resin with mixed media elements
One-of-a-kind: Some rooms have bad service…this one has no way out.
